The Last Day of Summer

Over the years, I have enjoyed noticing the last days of the season, not least because sometimes a lot can feel different in such a short space of time. It’s early September at the moment, after a summer of heat records being broken and yet things are changing quickly. It’s cooler, the rain is arriving, and trees are looking browner than they were a couple of weeks ago. Nature marches on without a care for anything else.

Anyway, what do I mean by the last day of summer? In my simple world, the crude way to define summer is June, July and August, and seeing as I had a bit of spare time on August 31st, I thought I’d go out for a short walk and capture what that looked like. Here are a selection of the photos I took.
